The Web of Life Field (WOLF) School hosted another of its successful DIY (do-it-yourself) Family Camps this weekend at Monte Toyon's tent campground in Aptos.
This was WOLF School’s very first Socially Distant Family Camp, and the first Covid-19-time in-person camp held at WOLF School. Program Coordinator Sergio Typhoon reported, "It was a small group of families who really enjoyed getting out into nature and enjoying the open space and beauty of the redwoods."
During the weekend camping trip, families took advantage of the hosted camp to participate in a physical distancing small group campfire program complete with songs, camaraderie, and even prizes. During the day, kids and parents had free time to relax and some made the 10 minute drive to local Aptos beaches where they enjoyed the sun and surf.
In the evening some took advantage of the professionally-guided walk through the forest to hilltop Eagle's View to take in the sunset. Others relaxed and spent time appreciating nature and being away from the busy city life.
WOLF School has a few more of these small group camping experiences coming up at our Santa Cruz Area Campground at Monte Toyon.
Check out the redwoods, and spend some time relaxing with family in nature at our private campground just 10 minutes from town, excellent take out dining, and the beach.
