TerraCycle and WOLF School
Have you heard of TerraCycle?
Founded in 2001, TerraCycle is an international up-cycling and recycling company that collects difficult-to-recycle packaging and products that would otherwise be destined for landfills, and re-purposes the material into affordable, innovative products. So cool!
How it works: Individuals or groups can collect the products on TerraCycle's list and turn them in for "points." These points can then be redeemed as a monetary donation to a school or nonprofit of the group's choosing. Even cooler!
Inspired by this incredible idea, WOLF School has started to collect and donate packaging used at our camps in order to lower our environmental impact!
Here's an idea: You can collect too! Individuals can collect and donate to the WOLF School Scholarship Fund, which helps students attend camp who otherwise wouldn't have the opportunity! Better yet, kids, teachers and parents can get their schools involved as a group, then redeem their points and donate them to their school or the WOLF School Scholarship Fund, to be used towards sending students to WOLF School's outdoor science school. While money might not grow on trees, it could be hiding in your garbage and recycling, waiting to be transformed into an outdoor experience at camp!
